11 finalists who are pitted against Neeraj Chopra for the coveted javelin gold at World Championships

Neeraj Chopra , the  Tokyo Olympic gold medallist secured second position in the qualifying round of the World Athletics Championships with first throw of 88.39m.

Neeraj Chopra (India)

Recently, he registered a national record and a new personal best of 89.94m in 2022 Diamond League where he secured a silver.

First time, two Indian javelin throwers make it to the final of World Athletics Championships. Rohit won a silver at the National Inter-state Championships last month.

Rohit Yadav (IND)

He is the first Pakistani to reach the final of World Athletics Championships. He is a brilliant thrower and has won bronze in 2018 Asian Games.

Arshad Nadeem (Pakistan)

He topped the qualifying round with 89.91. He also has the best throw in the world this year of 93.07m.

Anderson Peters (Grenada)

Thrower who finished third in the qualifying round with 87.28m. He has won gold in 2013 European Junior Championships.

Julian Weber (Germany)

He clinched silver medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. He also has a silver in 2017 World Championships.

(Czech Republic)

His personal best throw of 89.21m is the Egyptian record. He has won a silver in 2015 World Championships.

Ihab Abdelrahman (Egypt)

Recently, Oliver won the Gold at Pavo Nurmi Games 2022. His throw was better than Neeraj Chopra, who won silver in that tournament.

Oliver Helander (Finland)

The Japanese thrower finished seventh in the qualification round and has a personal best of 84.28m.

Genki Dean (Japan)

The one who finished eighth in the qualifying round and his throw was consistently above 81m.

Curtis Thompson (USA)

He finished tenth in the qualifying round. He finished seventh in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Andrian Mardare (Moldova)

He was the last one to qualify. He finished fourth in the 2019 World Championships and eighth in the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games.
