19-year-old South Africa batter Dewald Brevis has come up the ranks after performing exceptionally in the U19 World Cup earlier this year.

The youngster is currently playing for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the 2022 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

In nine matches, the right-hander has scored 125 runs at an average of 20.83 and, most importantly, at a strike rate of 154.32.

Thrashed TKR

Although he wasn’t at his best in his first 6 innings, Brevis showed what he is capable of in the match against Trinbago Knight Riders.

Massive SR

Brevis scored 30 runs off six balls and played at a strike rate of 500. After a dot ball, the right-hander finished things off with five massive sixes.

Which bowlers?

Brevis smashed left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein for three sixes in a row. He then finished off the innings with two sixes off pacer Daryn Dupavillon. 

Competitive score

On the back of the South African teenager's important cameo against the Knight Riders, the Patriots posted a score of 163 for six in their 20 overs.

IPL stint


Brevis also caught the limelight while playing for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Not to forget that Brevis is more than a handy leg-spinner and has six T20 wickets to his name. In IPL 22, He dismissed former RCB skipper Virat Kohli.
