During the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 in UAE, India have suffered a major setback with star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja ruled out due to a knee injury.
Due to Jadeja's injury, Axar Patel has been called up in his place. He will hope to balance out the team with both ball and bat.
Jadeja has been out of the international team seven times since the T20 World Cup that ended in November 2021.

Jadeja was ruled out of the second Test against New Zealand due to injury for the first time since the end of the T20 World Cup in November 2021.
Jadeja was ruled out of the Test series against South Africa in December 2021 as well because of the knee injury against New Zealand.
Jadeja's recovery was not complete even after the Test series against South Africa. He was also ruled out of the ODI and T20 series against West Indies.
After the series against West Indies, Jadeja returned to the team fit for Sri Lanka and was part of the squad for the T20I and Test series.
After returning from injury in February, he was ruled out due to injury from the middle of the IPL 2022 season for Chennai Super Kings .
In the month of May, Jadeja could not be a part of the India squad for the five-match T20I series against South Africa after the IPL.
Jadeja returned to the team for the England tour after an injury in May, but here too, he was dropped from India for the T20I series after Tests and ODIs.
Ravindra Jadeja was not a part of Team India for the tour of Zimbabwe after the England tour and was working on his fitness.
Jadeja made a strong comeback for India in the Asia Cup, playing an important role in the win over Pakistan. However, once again, he has been afflicted with injury.
