Ben Stokes played an incredible knock on Day 5 of the Lord's Test against Australia.

The England captain scored 155 runs in 214 balls but failed to take his team to the promised land.

Stokes ended up breaking Adam Gilchrist's record which was set in 1999.

Gilchrist scored 149 runs against Pakistan in Hobart in 1999.

Stokes now has the record for scoring most runs by a batter from No. position or lower in 4th innings of a Test.

Gilchrist had the record to his name for 24 years, but now Stokes holds the feat.

Stokes also holds the record for smacking most sixes in fourth innings of a Test.

Despite Ben Stokes' heroics, England are 0-2 behind in the Ashes 2023.
