Ahead of the third Test, Australia have received twin injury updates.

Their out-of-form opener David Warner is the latest to be hit by injury in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Before Warner, Josh Hazlewood was also ruled out for the remaining two Tests vs India.

Hazlewood joins Pat Cummins in returning home because of his long-standing Achilles injury.

Warner was hit by a Mohammed Siraj delivery on Day 1 of the second Test in Delhi.

He was then ruled out of the remaining two Test matches because of an elbow injury and a concussion.

The opener has struggled for form, with scores of 1, 10 and 15 in the innings that he has played in India.

In his absence, Travis Head will continue to open for India.

However, the returns of Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green from their respective injuries will surely boost them.
