The ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 has already witnessed five shocking defeats in just 12 days since it has commenced.

The minnow teams who were earlier considered weak have caused the most turnarounds in the ongoing T20 WC, defeating the giants of the game. Let's have a look at them.



Zimbabwe stunned Pakistan by 1 run. Babar Azam & Co. were given a target of 131 to win but they crashed just before the finishing line which has made their road to semis difficult.

Ireland beat England by 5 runs. Batting first they scored 157 and when the match was stopped due to rain, England's scoreboard read 105/5 as they ended up losing the tie by Duckworth-Lewis method.


Scotland thrashed two-time champions West Indies by 42 runs. Playing first, they scored 160/5. In reply Windies were bundled out for for just 118.



Ireland rocket West Indies by 9 wickets. Playing first, the Windies scored 146 runs for five wickets. In reply, the Irish team easily chased down the target in 17.3 overs.




Namibia stunned Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka by 55 runs. Batting first, the Namibia posted a total of 163/7 and then summed up Sri Lankan team for a paltry 108.

There are still a lot of matches left in the Super-12 stage which might see more such upsets from minnow teams like Ireland, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Netherlands.
