The first T20I series was played between New Zealand and India in 2008/09 and was won by New Zealand.

Out of 21 T20Is played so far between them, India have won 11 while Kiwis have emerged victorious in 9 matches as one match ended with no result.

Highest team total in a T20I innings: New Zealand scored 219/6 in the first T20I of the India tour of New Zealand in 2019.

Lowest team total in a T20I innings: India were bundled out for just 79 runs in the Group 2 encounter of the T20 World Cup 2016.

Most runs in T20Is: Rohit Sharma has amassed 511 runs in 17 matches against Kiwis at a strike rate of 141.16, which includes six fifties.

Most wickets in T20Is: Kiwis spinner Ish Sodhi has grabbed 20 wickets in 15 contests against India at an economy of 7.26.

Highest individual score in T20Is: Colin Munro scored a 58-ball 109 in the second T20I of the New Zealand tour of India in November 2017.

Interestingly, Munro remains the only batter to score a century in match-ups between the two sides in the shortest format of the game.

Best bowling figures in T20Is: Mitchell Santner’s 4/11 derailed the Indian batters in a run chase of 127 in the same match where India recorded their lowest total against New Zealand in T20Is
