Kolkata Knight Riders are a side that won the IPL title twice — in 2012 and 2014.
In the past auctions, they have bought players at a huge price and while some of them have worked, others didn’t.
Here, we take a look at the most expensive players that they bought in the past IPL auctions.
Mitchell Starc: 9.4 crores
Starc was bought by KKR in 2018 but he did not make a single appearance for the team because of injuries.
Chris Lynn: 9.6 crores
Lynn was a regular for KKR and in the same auction that got them Starc, the side spent 9.6 crores on his Australian teammate.
Yusuf Pathan: 9.66 crores
Pathan was the second-highest-paid player in the 2011 auction and played crucial roles in their two title campaigns.
Gautam Gambhir: 11.04 crores
Another one of their biggest purchases, Gambhir captained the side to their two IPL trophies.
Pat Cummins: 15.5 crores
Another expensive buy for KKR that did not pay off, Cummins played 26 games for the team, bagging 28 wickets.
