France and Argentina take on each other in the final of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Luka Modric signed off his World Cup career with the consolation prize of a Qatar 2022 bronze medal.

This came after he captained Croatia to a 2-1 win over Morocco in the third-place match on Saturday.

Goals from Josko Gvardiol and Mislav Orsic helped the 2018 finalists recover from their semifinal loss to Argentina.

37-year-old Luka Modric also played his 162nd game for Croatia.

This is his fourth FIFA World Cup — 2006, 2014, 2018 and 2022.

He helped Croatia become the 4th team in FIFA World Cup history to win the 3rd place match.

Gvardiol gave Croatia a seventh-minute lead at Khalifa International Stadium, after which Achraf Dari swiftly brought Morocco level.

Then Mislav Orsic's brilliant finish just before half-time proved to be the goal to give them a creditable third place.
