On top is Sri Lanka's T20 World Cup hero Tillakaratne Dilshan, who played 35 matches across six editions of the competition.

Three people are tied for second spot with 34 matches, one of them including West Indies legend Dwayne Bravo.

Pakistan's former skipper Shahid Afridi and his teammate Shoaib Malik also played 34 matches.

Inaugural T20 World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni is the third player on this list, having played 33 matches for India.

But current India skipper Rohit Sharma has a chance to move above him, having also played 33 matches for the Men in Blue.

West Indies' Chris Gayle and Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim are two other players with 33 T20 World Cup appearances.

But the duo will not be played in the 2022 T20 World Cup, having announced their international retirement before the squads were announced.

Below them, with 31 T20 World Cup appearances, are Sri Lankan legends Mahela Jayawardene and Lasith Malinga.
