India's hero in Durban

On September 19 15 years back, Yuvraj Singh took the world by storm and smashed 6 sixes in an over against England off Stuart Broad's bowling.

That Yuvraj knock led India to a thrilling win over England, starting their inspirational run towards the inaugural T20 World Cup trophy in 2007.

Inspired victory

Some records set on that day are still standing and have not been broken despite a massive transformation of the shortest format.

Records galore

Yuvraj reached his half-century in 12 balls. This is still the fastest 50 scored in not only a T20I match but in any sort of men's T20 match.

Fastest fifty

Yuvraj's brutal assault of Stuart saw him take 36 runs off the over. This is still a record for the most runs ever taken in a single T20I over.

Most runs in an over

He holds this record with Kieron Pollard who smashed Akila Dananjaya for six sixes in a T20I between West Indies and Sri Lanka in 2021.

Joint record

The star Indian all-rounder was the first Indian to do the same in T20 cricket. No one has managed to repeat it either with India or while playing franchise cricket.

Only Indian to do this in T20s

IPL founder Lalit Modi promised the Indian players that he would gift a luxury car to anyone who will hit six back-to-back sixes or take a double hat-trick.

Won a Porsche

India would go on to lift the T20 World Cup trophy with a win over Pakistan in the final. This was followed by the inaugural IPL season in 2008.
