The staggering stats behind MS Dhoni's 183* against Sri Lanka in 2005.

On October 31, 2005, MS Dhoni played a stunning knock of 183 not out against Sri Lanka in an ODI match. 

The 183* is MS Dhoni's highest score in 50-over cricket. 



It also happens to be the highest individual score by a wicketkeeping-batter in ODIs. 

MS Dhoni's 183* is also the joint-highest score by an Indian while chasing in ODI. 


In that innings, Dhoni smacked 10 sixes. He became the first Indian batter to hit that mark in an ODI game. 



He also became the first wicketkeeping-batter to smoke 10 sixes in an international match. 




During his knock, Dhoni smashed 25 boundaries (25 fours and 15 sixes).

India defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in Jaipur after Dhoni's outrageous knock.
