In 2017, Arshdeep was upset about not getting opportunities in his early phase. His father wanted him to go to Canada like his elder brother to pursue studies and settle there.
Arshdeep then asked his father for a year's time to make a name for himself in cricket. Later he was selected in Punjab Under-19 team and since then there is no looking back.
Arshdeep Singh was selected in Team India for the Under-19 World Cup in 2018. India lifted the title and in the tournament Arshdeep snared 3 wickets in 2 matches.
In 2019, he made his dubut in IPL and roped in by Punjab Kings for Rs 20 Lakh as he could only play three matches then.
In 2020, he played eight out of 14 matches and scalped nine wickets. He hogged limelight for his impressive bowling in Powerplay and death overs.
Arshdeep Singh was retained by Punjab Kings for IPL 2022 for a whopping Rs 4 crore. He was the second player after Mayank Agarwal to be retained.
He snared 21 wickets in IPL 2021 and 10 in 2022. In both the seasons, his bowling in the death overs earned him a place in Team India. He made his debut against England in 2022.
