The top five sensational goals in FIFA WC history

The FIFA World Cup, over the years, has provided fans with some of the best goals that the game can offer. 

These range from Robin Van Persie's 'Flying Dutchman' to Diego Maradona's first goal in that infamous match vs England. 

Here's we take a look at five such goals ahead of the tournament kicking off on November 20. 


On fifth, is French defender Benjamin Pavard's brilliant volley against Argentina in 2018, which was the goal of the tournament.



Fourth place goes to Maxi Rodriguez, who scored a brilliant extra-time goal vs Mexico to send Argentina into the quarters in 2006. 




The third is undoubtedly Robin Van Persie’s flying header vs Spain in the group stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.


Second spot goes to James Rodriguez, whose splendid volley against Uruguay is considered among the best goals of all time. 



The best goal of all time has to be Maradona's mazy run vs England to give Argentina a 2-0 lead in the quarters.
