Rishabh Pant is set to miss the upcoming four-Test series against Australia after horrific car accident.
Pant sustained several injuries after his car hit the divider on December 30, 2022.
Pant's absence from cricket could be a prolonged one and it will be premature to even zero in on a date at this point in time.
The Indian Test wicket-keeper's slot is now suddenly up for grabs and it could be an interesting three-horse race.
According to a report in PTI, Kona Bharat, Upendra Yadav and Ishan Kishan are in contention to replace Pant.
KS Bharat has played 84 First-Class matches and averages 37.46 with the bat.
Upendra Yadav has played 32 First-Class matches and averages 44.83 with the bat.
Ishan Kishan recently smacked a historic ODI double-century and is a prime contender to replace Pant.
