Shreyas Iyer picked up a back injury during Sri Lanka series and will be heading to NCA for rehabilitation

India's no.4 specialist Shreyas Iyer has scored 473 runs last 10 ODI innings at an average of 59.12 including 1 ton and fifty each

It is a big blow for India as in-form KL Rahul will also miss ODI series. Rahul asked for leave from BCCI to get married

In Shreyas’ absence, Madhya Pradesh batter Rajat Patidar has been added to the ODI squad against the Kiwis

But India’s T20I speciallist Suryakumar Yadav is likely to play in the first ODI given his recent form in shortest format

However, it is not clear whether Suryakumar Yadav will bat at no.4 or no.5 as he was sent at no.7 in 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka

Ishan Kishan can also play at no.4 position if India lose their top-order early against Tim Southee-led bowling attack

So far, Suryakumar has scored 388 runs from 16 ODI innings at an average of 29.84 including two fifties

Can Tim Southee surpass legendary Anil Kumble on this list in ODIs?
