WPL 2023: Apart from Hayley Matthews, which bowlers shone the brightest with the ball?

The WPL 2023 season ended with Mumbai Indians beating Delhi Capitals in the final and winning the coveted trophy. 

Leading the bowling attack in the final was West Indian all-rounder Hayley Matthews, who took 3 wickets for just five runs!

In doing so, she also became the first winner of the Purple Cap in the WPL. 

Here, we look at the five best bowlers from the recently-concluded competition.

5 | Saika Ishaque was among the few uncapped players to shine, having taken 15 wickets in 10 matches for MI. 

4 | Amelia Kerr is one of four MI bowlers on this list, with 15 wickets in 10 games, including 2 in the final!

3 | Young Englishwoman Issy Wong of MI took seven wickets in the playoffs to take her total tally to 15 in 10 games. 

2 | Sophie Ecclestone took 16 wickets in nine matches for the UP Warriorz. 

1 | Hayley Matthews was the Purple Cap winner with her 16 scalps in 10 games, and a better economy rate (5.94) than Ecclestone.
