Rodgers, who turned 41 years old in December, had a mixed season in 2024.

As Rodgers considers his future, the decision to retire or return for another season is at the forefront of his mind.

Brett Favre, a Hall of Fame quarterback with a wealth of experience in the NFL, shared his thoughts on Aaron Rodgers’ future during a recent interview with TMZ Sports. Favre, who had a front-row seat to Rodgers' early career with the Green Bay Packers, expressed his belief that Rodgers still has plenty of potential and should not be considering retirement anytime soon.

Favre’s Confidence in Rodgers’ Ability to Bounce Back

Reflecting on Rodgers’ disappointing 2024 season with the New York Jets, Favre remains optimistic about his ability to recover. “He’s got something left,” Favre stated emphatically. “I think I’m right in saying that he has a lot of juice left in the tank.” Favre's comments came as part of a broader discussion about Rodgers’ struggles with the Jets, who finished the season with a disappointing 5-12 record.

Despite the team’s overall struggles, Favre is confident in Rodgers’ talent and leadership abilities. “I just think he still can play,” he added. Favre cited Rodgers’ strong performance in Week 18 of the season, where he threw for four touchdowns and 274 yards in a 32-20 win over the Miami Dolphins. “You saw it this last game. You go, ‘Well, where’s that been?’” Favre remarked. “That’s the Aaron Rodgers we know. He’s making all the throws, guys are responding to him, love playing with him. Where’s that been all year?”

Aaron Rodgers’ 2024 Season and Future Considerations

Rodgers, who turned 41 years old in December, had a mixed season in 2024. After missing the majority of the 2023 season due to a torn Achilles, he threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, while completing 63 percent of his passes. However, the Jets’ overall performance failed to live up to expectations, with the team struggling to find consistency throughout the year.

As Rodgers considers his future, the decision to retire or return for another season is at the forefront of his mind. He has expressed interest in playing for the Jets again, contingent on the hiring of a new general manager and coach. Favre, with his vast experience, encouraged Rodgers to keep playing if he still has the desire to prove himself. “If there’s any little inkling in him that wants to play and prove that he can still do it at a high level, then I would say do it,” the former Packers star advised.

Rodgers’ Legacy and What’s Next

For Rodgers, the decision to return for another season could come down to his desire to continue competing at the highest level and to prove that he still has what it takes to perform at an elite level. With Favre’s support, Rodgers has a trusted voice encouraging him to push forward, no matter the challenges ahead.

As the offseason approaches, the football world will continue to watch and wait to see if Rodgers will return to the field for the 2025 season or make the decision to step away from the game. One thing is clear: there’s still plenty of belief in his abilities, and Favre is confident that Rodgers has a lot of football left to play.
