The LA Lakers left the Basketball community in shock after a historic trade, in which they acquired Luka Doncic in exchange for Anthony Davis. As the details of the three-team deal surfaced online, there were speculations about whether LeBron James had any sort of knowledge about the trade. 

What did LeBron James say?

According to Lakers insider Dave McMenamin, LeBron James had no knowledge about the deal being in place in the first place and secondly, he was completely shocked when he first heard about the trade.

LeBron James learned of the Davis-Doncic trade after the Knicks game when it broke while he was out to dinner with his family, sources close to James told ESPN, McMenamin tweeted. James was surprised by the news, is processing it and had no idea it was in the works, sources said.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, all three including LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Luka Doncic were all unaware of the deal that shocked the basketball community.

This deal materialized in the shadows, Shams said on SportsCenter. LeBron James had no idea this was coming. Anthony Davis had no idea this was coming. I’m told Luka Doncic is still stunned about this trade.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis last played together on January 28 against the Philadelphia 76ers. During that contest, Davis suffered an abdominal injury that ruled him out of action for at least a week.

Before the historic three-team trade took place, LeBron James' impressive performance was something that stole the show. He clocked back the time as the four-time NBA champion led the Lakers to a road victory without Anthony Davis. 

The four-time league MVP registered 33 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists. He shot 14 of 26 from the field, including 3 of 8 from beyond the arc.
