Aaron Gordon Suffers Hamstring Injury

With the series tied at 3-3, a cracker of a game is in the making at the Paycom Center. However,  the Nuggets have been weakened just before the game, as Aaron Gordon, who has proved to a clutch player time and again, will likely sit out owing to a hamstring strain. The strain diagnosis was first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania and has since been confirmed by multiple reports.

Gordon seemingly sustained the injury in the final minutes of the Nuggets' Game 6 win on Thursday. After feeling the discomfort and pain, Gordon stepped out of the court in the final minute. Following the culmination of the game, Gordon had conveyed that he would be okay before Game 7, but coach David Adelman was concerned about his status. Gordon is most probably out of the game because, in most cases, an injury like this typically takes at least 10 days to recover.

Gordon has averaged 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds a game while playing clutch defense in these playoffs. More than that, he hit this clutch shot against the Clippers.

“There are certain people in our league I would define as championship pieces, I think we say that too much, he is one those people, he is a definition of that and he always has been since he got to us,” Adelman said of Gordon earlier this postseason.

That’s the kind of player the Nuggets need to step up on Sunday, but Denver will have to go without him. The winner of the Nuggets vs Thunder showdown will move to the final of the Western Conference final.
