In the clip, originally from when Edwards received his 2026 All-Star ring earlier in the year, the guard opens a custom box and discovers a video message featuring his young daughter. She can be heard saying variations of “Daddy’s an All-Star.”
Edwards’ face lights up with a broad smile as he declares, “Aw, this the best in the world, right here,” while watching the personalised surprise. The video has circulated several times since February, including around the All-Star festivities and later for Father’s Day, capturing a genuine family moment for the four-time All-Star and 2026 All-Star Game MVP.
Edwards, born on 5 August 2001 in Atlanta, has established himself as one of the league’s premier guards with the Timberwolves. The NBA is currently in its offseason as the players get ready for the upcoming edition after the New York Knicks won the NBA title, beating the San Antonio Spurs.
As for Edwards, he recorded 28.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists on average in the 2025-26 season for the Timberwolves. The franchise clinched the playoffs for the fifth season in a row after their win against the Indiana Pacers before they concluded the season 49-33.
Edwards didn't play following an injury as the Timberwolves faced the third-seeded Denver Nuggets, being the sixth seed in the playoffs. After upsetting the Nuggets in six games, their season concluded with the eventual runners-up, the Spurs, in the conference semifinals.
