The Asia Cup 2022 kicks off on August 27 and six teams will fight to win the prestigious tournament. Team India has won the trophy on seven occasions and this time, the Men in Blue are gunning for their eighth triumph. Rohit Sharma-led India will start their Asia Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28 (Sunday).

Both India and Pakistan are the front-runners to lift the trophy on September 11. But both teams are dealing with injuries to their star fast bowlers. India will be without the services of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel while Pakistan will be without their spearhead Shaheen Afridi.

India's pace attack for the Asia Cup doesn't have the venom, at least on paper, as it usually boasts when premier pacers are fit. Taking this into consideration, former Pakistan pacer Sarfaraz Nawaz reckons that the Men in Green should pounce on India's inexperienced bowling line-up and register a win on Sunday.

"Bowlers win matches. If you have good bowlers then you will win matches. Batters don't win matches for you. India are not at full strength and that is why I think Pakistan should not only beat India but also become champions of Asia," Nawaz said during a conversation with Cricket Pakistan.

The last time these two teams played against each other, Pakistan ended up registering a commanding 10-wicket win over India. The Men in Blue are eyeing revenge against their arch-rival while Pakistan would look to cause more damage by starting the Asia Cup campaign with a win over India.
