Virat Kohli scores 17.2 in Yo-Yo Test, shares story on Instagram as Asia Cup, ODI World Cup preparations begin

Former India skipper Virat Kohli, known for his exceptional fitness in the world of cricket, has once again showcased his commitment to staying fit. Before the commencement of the Asia Cup 2023, as soon as Kohli joined Team India, he astonished everyone by acing the Yo-Yo fitness test. He himself shared this news, revealing his score on Instagram.

All the players of Team India have assembled in Bengaluru for a fitness camp ahead of the Asia Cup 2023, set to start on August 30. During this time, the BCCI has designed a special 13-day program for fitness. In this, Kohli proved his mettle in the Yo-Yo test, sharing his score on an Instagram story. Kohli successfully completed the test with a score of 17.2, expressing his elation over the accomplishment.

 

 

What is the Yo-Yo Test

 

The Yo-Yo test is a measure of an athlete's fitness and agility, conducted by BCCI before any major tournament. During the test, players run between two points set at a certain distance within a stipulated time. Gradually, the distance between these points is reduced to assess a player's endurance and agility.

Team India, led by captain Rohit Sharma, will soon be heading to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup 2023, starting on August 30. After their T20 series win in Ireland under captain Jasprit Bumrah, players like Tilak Varma, Prasidh Krishna, and Sanju Samson are set to join the Asia Cup squad. India's first match in the Asia Cup 2023 will be against Pakistan, scheduled to be played on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
