Australian cricket board, Cricket Australia, on September 14 (Wednesday) announced that premier paceman Mitchell Starc and star all-rounders Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Marsh will miss the country's India tour owing to 'low level' injuries. The Aussie cricket board revealed that Marsh will be out due to an ankle injury, Stoinis due to a side strain and Starc because of a knee injury.
While announcing the injury set-back, Cricket Australia also named replacements for all three players. The troika Nathan Ellis, Daniel Sams and Sean Abbott will now travel to India. Also, star opening batter David Warner was earlier rested for the series against India.
India and Australia will lock horns in three T20Is, starting September 20. The series offers a fantastic opportunity for both teams to iron out their flaws and decide on their playing XI for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, which will start on October 16 in Australia.
