India vs Bangladesh Test match

Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill overcame months of hurt, anxiety, and disappointment with emotional centuries on the third day, putting India in a strong position to win the first Test against Bangladesh.

Gill scored an unbeaten 119, while Pant contributed 109, leading a vital partnership of 167 for the fourth wicket. This effort allowed India, resuming at 81/3, to declare their second innings at 287 for 4, establishing a commanding lead of 514 runs.

In response, Bangladesh displayed some resilience, finishing the day at 158 for four when play was halted at 4:25 PM due to bad light. They still require an enormous 357 runs to secure a victory.

Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto (51) and Shakib Al-Hasan (5) were at the crease for the visitors, and the day could have ended on a more positive note had they been more selective with their shots against star off-spinner R. Ashwin (3/63).
