Continuing the trend of exceptional performances in English domestic cricket from the recently concluded T20 Blast, The County Championship Division Two in England saw one star smash a brilliant triple century without a single six to his name. 32-year-old England batsman Sam Northeast, who plays for Glamorgan, scored an unbeaten 308 for Glamorgan, with 38 fours during the innings. His innings has allowed his side to just 21 runs from Leicestershire's 584 in the first innings.

Leicestershire scored 584 runs
The match between Leicestershire and Glamorgan saw Leicestershire to a massive total of 584 courtesy of Wiaan Mulder's 156 runs off 201 balls. With this away match seemingly in Leicestershire's hands, Northeast ruined their plans.

Huge partnership for 306 runs
Glamorgan's start was very bad as two batters returned to the pavilion for just nine runs. Batting at number four, Northeast took on the Leicestershire bowlers, setting up a huge partnership of 306 runs with Colin Ingram (139 runs) for the third wicket as his team fought their way back into the game. Northeast's performance helped Glamorgan to 563 runs for five wickets as his team are now only 21 runs behind the target.

19 centuries at the age of 13
Northeast has had a lot of talent from a young age. The batter from Kent scored 19 centuries in 2003 while playing for his school at the age of 13. His performances gave him a chance to play for the England Under-19 team. But he could never play for the senior team. Sam has so far scored 11,556 runs in 191 first-class matches.
