Story Highlights:

India set to face England in 3rd ODI.

It will take place in Ahmedabad.

Virat Kohli will be eyeing to score runs.

Before the third ODI against England, star India batter Virat Kohli spotted a close relative in the crowd of fans who had assembled to greet him at the airport. India has already grabbed an unassailable 2-0 lead in the rubber of their three-match ODI series against England. While travelling to Ahmedabad, the location of the final series match, Kohli received a hearty welcome ahead of the last game. A video of Kohli's touching encounter with a close relative has been making the rounds on social media before the game.

Fans can be heard cheering loudly as Kohli exits the airport in the footage. The Indian celebrity sees a close relative as he approaches the crowd and rushes to hug her. At the airport, a number of fans caught the touching gesture on camera.

After more than six months, Kohli failed to make a spectacular return to ODI cricket as he was removed cheaply in the second match against England at Cuttack. He edged wrist spinner Adil Rashid to first slip, but the former captain of India, who missed the first ODI because of a knee injury, could only muster 5 (8). Rashid dismissed Kohli for the tenth time across all three formats of international cricket, which is the second-highest number of times any bowler has done so.

Since 2024, Kohli has struggled in One-Day Internationals. In August of last year, when India lost their first series against the island nation since 1997, he managed just 58 runs from three games against Sri Lanka. With just 440 runs from 11 games (21 innings) at an average of 23.15 and one hundred and as many fifties, his Test results have also been poor. Therefore, Kohli's form is vital for India in the third ODI against England on Wednesday, February 12 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
