Ben Duckett gives big update on his thumb injury.

England is 492/3 at Stumps Day 3.

Star England batter Ben Duckett suffered a dislocated thumb on his left hand on Day 2 during fielding in the first Test against Pakistan which did not allow him to open the innings for the English side in their first innings. The star batter later played a crucial knock that allowed his team to take a strong end and provided with a major update on his injury.

"It (the thumb) is alright. The doctor put it back in immediately and I had a scan last evening which didn't show anything. Yes, a little bit sore (after batting) but it is fine. Slightly different (batting at 4). I didn't really know what to do as I was waiting to go out to bat. On that wicket you don't need to leave too many balls. We keep batting. We have all day tomorrow, go past them and then try to bowl them out on a day 5 pitch. It is tough to know what to say about him (Root), he's gone past Sir Alastair, it is greatness we are seeing in front of our eyes but it does not feel that way while batting with him, he has been in the form of his life in the last 6 months," said Ben Duckett at the end of Day 3.

England post 492/3 at stumps

After Pakistan posted 556/10 riding on the hundreds from Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood and Agha Salman, the visitors needed some great performances from their players in order to stay in this match and avoid reeling behind after the first innings and this was ensured by their batters who did not allow Pakistan bowlers to capitalise the massive score on the board or push them on the backfoot.

Despite losing their skipper Ollie Pope for a two-ball duck, England fought back with the help of fifties from Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett and centuries from Joe Root and Harry Brook. They put the visitors in a strong position at the end of stumps day 3. England is batting at 492/3 and are only trailing by 64 runs.
