The IPL 2022 mega auctions will take place in Bengaluru, on February 12 and 13.&nbsp;&nbsp;While talking about winning the U-19 World Cup, Dhull said that “it is now past” and he wants to think about “how to move forward.”&nbsp;"Winning the World Cup is now past. I am now thinking about how to move forward. Because I have got a place in Delhi Ranji team and now there is a lot to do ahead,” Dhull explained&nbsp;During the World Cup, Dhull and other players were found to be positive for the Covid-19 virus. While recalling the period, Dhull said that they “were a little nervous at that time" but “the bonding was great and helped us move forward”&nbsp;“When all of us were found to be corona positive, we were a little nervous at that time. But everyone knows that VVS Laxman sir was present with us. He talked to us a lot and kept us mentally strong, which helped us a lot and was always a team player. We stayed connected to each other, so the bonding was great and helped us move forward,” Dhull recalled.&nbsp;

The 19-year-old batsman scored 252 runs in 5 matches in the event. His highest score was 162 (not out) against Uganda U-19. In that match, Raj had smashed 14 boundaries and 8 sixes. When we were batting together in the final, the thought was to take it deep and then finish it five-seven overs earlier. We were dismissed but Nishant Sindhu played well. In the field, Rasheed kept suggesting me and it helped me to have a free mind. It also gave me confidence that I am making the right decisions," Dhull explained.

India Under-19 skipper Yash Dhull entered the elite list of Indian captains to score a century in the World Cup. Dhull scored run-a-ball 110 against Australia in the semi-final of U-19 World Cup 2022 at Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua. Also, he became the 15th Indian batter to score a century in Under-19 World Cup history.&nbsp;&nbsp;After almost a decade, an Indian captain has scored a century in the Under-19 World Cup. Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was the first one to do it in 2008 edition of the event. Kohli scored a 74-ball 10 against West Indies in a group stage game. Four years later, former Indian cricketer Unmukt Chand achieved the feat with a 111-run knock against Australia in the final while chasing.&nbsp;&nbsp;Dhull came in to bat at no.4 when India were struggling after openers’ departure. From 37/3, Dhull and vice-captain Shaik Rasheed got the innings back on the track. The Delhi-born batter got his half-century from 64 deliveries in the 31st over. He got to the milestone with a boundary.&nbsp;&nbsp;The two set a platform for a big score and then accelerated. Dhull got to his maiden World Cup century with a couple of runs in the 45th over of the innings. He reached his next 50 from 42 deliveries. In the same over, he hit Tom Whitney for 16 runs in five deliveries. He was looking to play more freely after reaching the three figures but got run out at the non-striker’s end as Rasheed’s drive down the ground brushed Jack Nisbet’s fingers on the follow through and hit the stumps.&nbsp;Dhull’s record 108-run knock included 10 fours and one six. He shared a 204-run partnership for the third wicket with Rasheed. The vice-captain also got out in the same over to Nisbet. He missed out on a century and departed for a 108-ball 94 laced with eight fours and one six.&nbsp;&nbsp;Despite the two quick wickets in the slog overs, India finished with a flourish to get to 290/5. Opening batsmen- Muhammad Shehzad (73 runs off 69 balls) and wicketkeeper Haseebullah Khan (136 runs off 151 deliveries), gave a terrific start to their innings. &nbsp; &nbsp;Sri Lanka’s spinner Raveen de Silva provided a crucial breakthrough in the 25th over to dismiss Shehzad and break a solid partnership of 134 runs.&nbsp;&nbsp;Later, Haseebullah along with Akram notched up another brilliant partnership of 239 runs off 154 balls to take their side to a comfortable position.&nbsp;Akram sccored 135 runs (not out) off just 80 balls as his innings was comprised of 13 boundaries and 6 sixes. &nbsp;The 19-year-old skipper hit the fastest century after securing his ton in just 63 balls.&nbsp;&nbsp;In the final over of the innings, Sri Lanka did manage to pick up two wickets as their medium pacer Matheesha Pathirana dismissed Haseebullah and Irfan Khan (2 runs) but it was too late for them as eventually, Pakistan had reached a massive total of 365 runs.&nbsp;&nbsp;Apart from a poor bowling display, lack of discipline was another key factor of Sri Lankan bowling as they conceded 19 runs as extras.&nbsp;Sri Lanka battingIn reply, Pakistan had a remarkable start as skipper Akram dismissed Chamindu Wickramasinghe on the first ball of the innings.&nbsp;&nbsp;Within 11 overs, Sri Lanka lost half of their batting lineup. The Delhi-born batter scored a brilliant century (110 runs off 110 balls) against Australia in the semi-final to help his side in securing a 96-run victory.&nbsp;&nbsp;In the first match of the world cup the skipper had scored an amazing 82 runs off 100 balls against South Africa. Yash was tested positive for the Covid-19 virus but there was no change in his batting after his recovery.&nbsp;The final matchThe Indian team, led by Yash, will now take on the English team in the final of the ICC U-19 World Cup, on February 5.&nbsp;While talking about India’s chances of winning the World Cup, Yash’s father Vijay Dhull said that “definitely the World Cup will come to India.”&nbsp;“Definitely the World Cup will come to India as the team is performing so well then they deserve it. There is no doubt that the other team has also performed well to get there and the aim is only one. The entire nation is expecting them to do well and why not after all they are doing so well.” Yash Dhull’s father Vijay Dhull was quoted while talking to news agency ANI.&nbsp;Skills and mindsetRegarding his son’s skills and mentality, Vijay said that, “Yash’s cricketing mind is very sharp.”&nbsp;“Yash’s cricketing mind is very sharp and he takes things very seriously. He picks up very quickly on what batters will do during such a situation. Which bowler should be put against which batter. He also makes quick changes. Batting first, Bangladesh were bundled out for 111, in 37.1 overs.&nbsp;India chased down the target in 31.5 overs with 115 balls remaining. Indian team are scheduled to face Australia in the semi-final stage.&nbsp;India bowled firstWinning the Toss, India’s captain Yash Dhull elected to bowl first on a seam-friendly wicket. Left-arm pacer Ravi Kumar turned out to be the best bowler for the Indian side by picking up three wickets. He dismissed Bangladesh opener Mahfijul Islam on two in the second over of the day. Then, Ravi got rid of Iftakher Hossain on one run followed by Prantik Nabil (7 runs off 19 balls).&nbsp;&nbsp;Bangladesh were reeling at 14/3 at one point but from there Ariful Islam and Aich Mollah stitched a 23-run stand. The Bangla Tigers were later reduced to 56 runs losing 7 wickets. SM Mehroob and Ashiqur Zaman added 50 runs for the eight wicket to avoid an utter humiliation.&nbsp;&nbsp;SM Meherob top scored with 30 off 48 balls and Zaman, on the other hand scored 16 runs off 29 deliveries. Bangladesh tailenders did put up a brave fight after losing quick wickets cheaply and registered a mere total of 111 runs on the board.&nbsp;Ravi bagged 3 wickets conceding 14 runs in seven overs. Vicky Ostwal, on the other hand, finished with an impressive figure of 2/25 in nine overs. Kaushal Tambe, Rajvardhan Hangargekar and Angkrish Raghuvanshi claimed one wicket each.&nbsp;Indian battingIn reply India lost their opening batsman Harnoor Singh for a duck in the second over of their innings and were immediately under severe pressure. In reply, the Proteas were bundled out for 167.&nbsp;Sri Lanka’s innings got off to a rocky start and were reeling at 25/3 at one point. The captain, batting at number five, anchored the innings. Wellalage along with Shevon Daniel added 62 runs for the fourth wicket. At 87/4 after 25.3 overs, Ranuda Somarthane walked in to join his skipper and the duo added 130 runs, taking the total beyond 200. Wellalage scored 113 0f 130 balls whereas Somarthane remained unbeaten on 57 of 70 balls.&nbsp;For the Proteas, Kwena Maphaka picked 3/60 and was the pick of the bowlers, Mathew Boast was highly economical with figures of 2/21 in nine overs.The chase never took off for South Africa as they were scoring above the required run rate but frequent dismissals hampered their progress as the Sri Lankan bowlers split the wickets between them.&nbsp;Gerhardus Maree was the top scorer with 44 along with Rohan Herman 34. The PNG scoreboard reminded of a phone number as 10 batters went for single-digit scores. Chasing a target of 201 runs, an all-round bowling performance from the Afghanistan bowlers saw PNG reduced to just 65, with 21 extra runs they were hardly in the game. Earlier, captain Suliman Safi led from the front to score 62 off 76 deliveries to manage the 200-run mark. South Africa bounce back after opening day defeat to India Dewald Brevis has continued his superb form with the bat for South Africa as he scored 104 in 110 deliveries to register the Proteas' first win of the campaign. After showing his superb skills in domestic cricket in his age group, Raj was selected in the Under-19 World Cup team and his terrific show in the World Cup, before the mega IPL auction, can surely help him making an entry in the world's biggest league.&nbsp;After the dismissal of Raghuvanshi, Bawa led the charge and carried forward his splendid batting show. He first completed his century off just 69 balls and then he also went on to reach 150-run mark off 102 balls with a six. Bawa’s innings was comprised of boundaries and 8 sixes.&nbsp;New recordThe left-handed batsman also broke the 17-year-old record of Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan. Bawa became India's highest-scorer in the Under-19 World Cup. Before Bawa’s innings, this record was in the name of Dhawan after he played an innings of 155 runs against Scotland back in 2004.&nbsp;India eventually scored a total of 405 runs losing only 5 wickets in 50 overs.&nbsp;But the Indian bowlers were nothing less than the batsmen as the Indian bowling unit needed just 20 overs to bundle out their opponents. Australia looked set to reach the score comfortably after they lost their second wicket at 113 but a batting collapse saw the Aussies lose 7 wickets within a span of just 83 runs.&nbsp;&nbsp;There was at a stage when Australia needed only nine runs with five wickets in hand but a batting disaster saw the game go down to the final over of the innings but eventually Australia won the match with 5 balls remaining.&nbsp;&nbsp;Earlier, Afghanistan had a poor start to their batting as they lost five wickets with just 85 runs on the board. At one point, Afghanistan were at 85 for 2 but a dismal batting show saw the Afghanistan team lose their next three wickets within a span of just 10 runs.&nbsp;Iajz Ahmad Ahmadzai played a crucial knock of 81 runs off 79 balls to help his side in reaching a respectable total. In the penultimate over of the innings, he was dismissed by Australia pacer William Salzmann.&nbsp;The 18-year-old right-arm pacer picked up three wickets in the match. On the other hand, Nivethan Radhakrishnan gave Salzmann a good support by scalping three wickets as well.&nbsp;The run chaseIn reply, Aussie opener Campbell Kellaway started the innings convincingly and scored a half century (51 runs off 82 balls) and later all-rounder Radhakrishnan played a vital knock of 66 runs off 96 balls. In reply, the Indian team reached the target losing only four wickets and skipper Chand was rewarded with the Man of the Match award.&nbsp;In 2018, the Prithvi Shaw-led Indian side defeated Australia U-19 by 8 wickets to clinch the trophy for fourth time. Batting first, the Aussies registered a total of 216 runs. In reply, Indian team successfully chased down the total losing just two wickets. India’s Manjot Kalra was given the Man of the Match award for his terrific century.&nbsp;Two more final matchesApart from these four times, India team also reached the final on two more occasions.&nbsp;&nbsp;In 2006, India team did reach the final but they had to concede a 38-run defeat against arch-rivals Pakistan in the final clash. Batting first, Pakistan U-19 team registered a mere total of 109 runs but in reply, India U-19 team could only score 71 runs. &nbsp;&nbsp;In 2016, Indian U-19 team played in the final match once again. Indian team that had players like- Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar, Sarfaraz Khan and many other prominent names, were the favourites to win the trophy. But a poor batting display in the final, saw the Indian team score just 145 runs against West Indies. Eventually, India lost the final by 5 wickets.&nbsp;
