During an over change with Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland batting, Virat Kohli inquired about the next bowler. Rohit Sharma quickly replied, 'Jaddu daal Jaddu', referring Ravindra Jadeja by his nickname.

Rohit then gave specific instructions to Jadeja by saying, "Yahan se daal ke dekh kya hota hai (Bowl from this end and see what happens)." But the fun among the Indian players didn’t stop there, as the Indian skipper added with a chuckle, "Aye Jaddu, daant mat dikha zyada yaar usko (don’t show him too much teeth)."

As Jadeja prepared to bowl, India's star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant joined the playful banter at the MCG on Sunday, December 29. Eager to keep the atmosphere lively, Pant's comments were captured by the stump microphone.

Talking about the match, India were bowled out for 369 early on the fourth morning of the Boxing Day Test, responding to Australia's first innings score of 474. The crucial 127-run partnership between Nitish Kumar Reddy (114) and Washington Sundar (50) helped India recover from precarious position and post a challenging total on the board.
Reddy and Sundar's remarkable efforts limited Australia's first-innings lead to 105 runs. India then staged a strong comeback, spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah, who claimed four wickets as Australia were once reduced to 91/6.

Australia suffered a dramatic collapse against India, losing four wickets for just 11 runs after Jasprit Bumrah's four-fer and Mohammed Siraj's three-fer. However, dropped catches by the Indian fielders allowed Australia to recover on the fourth day of the ongoing fourth Test at the MCG. Marnus Labuschagne played a crucial role with a valuable 70 runs. He formed a 57-run partnership with Pat Cummins (41), and later, the last-wicket pair of Nathan Lyon (41*) and Scott Boland (10*) frustrated the Indian bowlers with a 55-run partnership. Australia finished Day 4 at 228/9, extending the lead to 333 runs.
