Mohammad Kaif slams Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj for changing ball in Lord's Test.

Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif blasts Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj for changing the ball during Day 2 of the third Test match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, taking place at iconic Lord's Stadium in London. The incident happened during the 91st over of the innings as the momentum was in favour of India during the first hour of play of the second day after dismissing Ben Stokes, centurion Joe Root and Chris Woakes.

After a few balls of the 91st over, when the second new ball was just 10.4 overs old, Gill complained about the shape of the ball. Umpire Paul Reiffel brought out the ring from his pocket, and the ball didn't pass the test. He signalled for a change in the red cherry that was being used as the fourth umpire came out with the ball box. The umpires selected one ball and Gill was immediately unhappy with it. He was involved in an animated chat with the umpire Sharfuddoula. Gill was seen as unhappy with the move and he kept complaining before being told to go back to his fielding position, so that the game could resume.

Kaif, who represented India in 13 Tests, took his 'X', formerly known as Twitter to slam the India captain and star speedster.

"Indians showing little patience with ball. Ball change after Bumrah's three wickets backfires. Swing gone, it's tough to understand why Shubman allowed Siraj to change ball" Kaif posted

Coming back to the third Test, the tailender Jaime Smith once again scripted England's lower-order fightback after Jasprit Bumrah's triple strike as England reached 353/7 at lunch on day two of the third Test against India. Bumrah picked up Joe Root (104), Ben Stokes (44) and Chris Woakes (0) in a devastating seven-ball burst in two overs to reduce England from 251/4 to 271/7.

Smith who scored 184 not out and 88 in the previous Test again shifted the momentum of the game with a fluent fifty and was unbeaten on 51 from 53 balls at the break, with Brydon Carse (33 batting) offering solid support in an unbroken eighth-wicket stand worth 82 runs that came off just 106 balls.
