India's star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant had to leave the field after injuring his finger during the ongoing third Test against England at Lord's. On Day 2 Dhruv Jurel replaced Rishabh Pant and took care of India's wicketkeeping duties.
Rishabh Pant spotted batting in nets despite injury concerns
Pant's absence from the field left fans wondering whether he will come out to bat or not after England were bowled out for 387 on Day 2. Meanwhile, Sports Tak has learnt that Pant was seen batting in the nets and assessing his left index finger.
Notably, Pant batted for almost 20 minutes in the nets. Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak was present during the nets and was constantly checking Rishabh’s left glove, in which there seems to be some cushioning from inside. He has taken pain killers and has been out of the field since the 34th over on Day 1 when he was hit by a Bumrah delivery that was drifting towards the leg side.

However, Jamie Smith (51) and Brydon Carse (56) formed a 84-run partnership to rally England from a precarious 271 to 355 before Mohammed Siraj got the better of wicketkeeper-batter. England tail then added 32 more runs before getting folded for 387. Bumrah was the wrecker in chief for India with an exceptional bowling figures of 5/74. Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj and Nitish Kumar Reddy chipped in with two wickets each for sum up England's innings.
