The Indian Test team is on full song as they dropped curtains on 2021 with a dominating win over South Africa in Centurion. Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg has applauded India's recent performances in red-ball cricket and made a big statement. According to the 50-year-old, India are in the pole position to be the best Test-playing nation in the world if they win one of the next two Test matches against the Proteas.

“One of the great teams that have been on Earth”, the former left-arm spinner quoted regarding the Indian cricket team on his YouTube channel.

“India just won in South Africa in the Boxing Day Test, if India win one out of the remaining two Test matches, they are definitely the best team in the world at the moment. India are going to be labelled as one of the great teams that have been on Earth. Like Australia in the 2000s and West Indies in the late 70s and early 80s,” Hogg added as he praised the success of the Indian team in the Boxing Day encounter.

Speaking on India’s dominance, Hogg has adored how Virat Kohli’s men have dominated the game in the longer version.

“India are the best team because they are dominating when they travel. They annihilated England on English soil. They should have had that series against England done and dusted being 3-1 up. England had no answers for them. England were too worried about The Hundred competition, getting the big stars to play there.

“Well, we’re in different times, there’s a pandemic, you have to adjust and be hospitable to the visitors. If that Test match does not get rescheduled, I don’t think anyone should worry about it because it was completely England’s fault,” the Aussie further added.

Team India are leading the three-match Test series 1-0 and will be poised to register their first Test series win on South African soil. Kohli’s army had a monumental 2021, as they registered wins at Gabba, Lord's, Oval and Centurion. The team will be hoping for the same at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg in the ongoing second Test. The Indian team is without captain Kohli as he was ruled out of the match with injury, while KL Rahul took charge of the side.
