5 titles in 14 seasons
Dhoni has led the Super Kings in 14 editions of the cash-rich tournament and his record is impeccable. He has won five titles - 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023 - while leading the franchise to 10 finals. In seasons 2008, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2019, Dhoni's CSK finished as the runners-up of IPL.
Dhoni's impeccable captaincy record
Apart from MS Dhoni, only two players have led the Chennai Super Kings in the cash-rich tournament. Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja led the franchise for a brief period in the last 16 seasons of IPL (including the two-year ban).

As a captain, Dhoni has won 20 matches against Delhi Capitals (DC), which is his most in the cash-rich tournament over any team. Against RCB, Dhoni has led CSK to 19 victories in 31 matches while against the Mumbai Indians (MI), the legendary figure has led his franchise to 16 wins in 36 matches. Dhoni has won 18 matches as a captain against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL.
