The opening match of IPL 2024 is scheduled for March 22 between CSK and RCB.

The IPL schedule for the first 17 days has been announced on February 22.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season will kick off with defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 22.

 

The initial schedule for the first 17 days of IPL 2024 was unveiled on February 22. The dates were announced only for the first 21 matches. The rest of the matches' schedule is expected to announced soon.

 

From March 22 to April 7, there will be a total of 21 matches held across 10 cities. Each team is scheduled to play at least three matches and up to five matches during this period.

The 42-year-old Dhoni has been a crucial part of CSK since the very first season of the T20 league. He has been leading CSK since 2008 and has established himself as one of the greatest figures in Indian cricket. 

The right-handed batter has participated in 250 IPL matches, primarily representing CSK, except for a stint with Rising Pune Supergiant from 2016 to 2017. In these matches, he has accumulated 5,082 runs at an average of 38.79. He has also registered 24 half-centuries in the tournament. He has also taken 142 catches and executed 42 stumpings.
