The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is set to kick off on March 22. The opening match of the 17th edition will played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a partial schedule for the IPL 2024, due to the overlap with the General Elections. However, the dates for the General Elections have recently been announced. So, the IPL schedule for the second phase is expected to be released soon.
A total of 21 matches will take place across 10 cities between March 22 and April 7. Each team is set to play a minimum of three matches and a maximum of five during this period.

GT won their 1st title in 2022
Gujarat Titans clinched their maiden title in the 2022 season under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, marking their debut season in the IPL. Currently, the team is captained by Shubman Gill, following Pandya's return to Mumbai Indians (MI), and coached by Ashish Nehra.
GT beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets to clinch the title at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bat first against GT. The Royals posted a total of 130 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Chasing the target of 131 runs, the GT successfully achieved it, scoring 133 runs for the loss of three wickets in just 18.1 overs. Hardik was awarded the 'Player of the Match' title for his performance.
