Delhi Capitals (DC) breached the 160-run mark against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the run chase at Ekana Stadium to get back to winning ways on April 12. With their second win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, DC climbed one place and occupied the ninth spot on the points table.
Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) slipped to the bottom of the points table as they have won just one game out of six games they have played.
The Rishabh Pant-led side registered a six-wicket win with 11 balls to spare to boost their net run rate (NRR) as well. However, their NRR is still significantly inferior to Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings (PBKS) who have two wins each from five games. Currently, RCB's NRR is the worst on the table and they will need big wins to get it on the positive side.

KL Rahul-led LSG still maintained their spot in the top four. However, their NRR took a hit after their first home loss of the season. They slipped from third to fourth place. They have three wins from five games. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) benefitted from LSG slipping one place. They are ahead of LSG on the basis of NRR.
What will happen after PBKS vs RR clash?
Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals (RR) are on the top with four wins from five games. Even if they lose to Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 13, they will continue to lead the points table.
On the other hand, PBKS led by Shikhar Dhawan are likely to move to the sixth position if they beat RR at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh. They will move past MI and also Gujarat Titans (GT) on the basis of NRR.
Kuldeep’s return, Fraser-McGurk’s debut headline DC’s comeback win
On his return to the side after recovering from injury, left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets and wrecked LSG’s batting lineup. In the run chase, young Jake Fraser-McGurk on his IPL debut whacked five sixes and two fours in his 33-ball 55 in the run chase. This was the first time, LSG have failed to defend a total in excess of 160.
