Shahbaz Ahmed trolled Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) with a cryptic Instagram bio ahead of IPL 2024.

Shahbaz Ahmed was traded from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) during the IPL auction 2023.

Bengal cricketer Shahbaz Ahmed could land in trouble for his social media activity. The spin-bowling all-rounder was traded to the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) from the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after playing with the franchise from 2020 to 2023. In four seasons with the Bengaluru-based outfit, he played 39 matches and picked up 14 IPL wickets with best bowling figures of 3/7.

RCB decided to part ways with Ahmed in 2023 and traded him to SRH, getting spinner Mayank Dagar in return. While Shahbaz Ahmed would be looking to impress the fans with his all-round performance, he could face some heat from the fans for his social media activity. In his Instagram bio, the Bengal star has written 'RCB > SRH', and it could lead to severe criticism for him.

SRH will be desperate to perform well in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after failing to qualify for the final four in the last three IPL seasons, during which they also finished in last place in 2021 and 2023. Hyderabad had a great season from 2016 to 2020, winning the tournament in 2016 and finishing in the top four in all seasons until 2020. SRH would want to get back to winning ways in IPL 2024. Some of their key players include Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram, Pat Cummins, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

As far as RCB is concerned, they are still waiting for their first IPL trophy. The Bengaluru-based outfit has performed well in recent seasons but has failed to go all the way. They have qualified for the playoffs thrice in a row, from 2020 to 2022, but could not make it past the playoff stage. Last year, they finished in the sixth spot and will be looking to improve their performance in IPL 2024. Some of their key players would be Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammad Siraj.
