Yuzvendra Chahal feels RCB will be under pressure if RR manage to get rid of Virat Kohli early in their IPL 2024 encounter.

RR will take on RCB in their home game on April 6.

Rajasthan Royals' (RR) ace spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is eyeing a prized wicket in their upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash against his former team, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 6, Saturday. During a pre-match press conference, Chahal discussed RR's strategy against batting legend Virat Kohli. While acknowledging Kohli's talent, calling him ‘the greatest batter of all time’, Chahal emphasised the importance of dismissing him early. He believes getting Kohli out cheaply will put RCB under immense pressure, potentially impacting their performance. This match holds significant weight for Rajasthan Royals. It's their third home game this season, and they're riding on a three-game winning streak. A victory against RCB could propel them to the top of the IPL 2024 points table.

Rajasthan have displayed a well-rounded performance so far in the ongoing IPL 2024, impressing with both their batting and bowling. Key players like Trent Boult, Chahal and Riyan Parag have been instrumental in their success and are expected to continue their good form against RCB.

"In the match, RCB will be under pressure if we can get the greatest ever Virat Kohli out early," Chahal said ahead of RR versus RCB's match.

When questioned about the recent trend of home fans cheering for opposition players like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, Chahal took a diplomatic approach. He acknowledged that these legendary figures earn such respect from fans due to their incredible careers and long-standing impact on the sport. Chahal emphasised that fans have the freedom of choice – they purchase tickets and have the right to support whomever they admire, regardless of team affiliation.

"Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, they are big players and they attract support from all stadiums. The fans buy their own tickets, we don't give them," Chahal further added.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore, in stark contrast to RR haven't found their footing yet in IPL 2024. Led by Faf du Plessis, they've stumbled through their first four matches, losing three and currently sit precariously at number eight in the points table. Their batting, with the exception of Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat, and Mahipal Lomror, has yet to find consistency. The bowling attack has also faced criticism for lacking firepower.

This upcoming match on April 6 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur will be a crucial one for RCB as they look to turn their season around against a strong Rajasthan Royals side.
