Yuzvendra Chahal unveiled RR's new match day kit for IPL 2024.

The 17th edition of IPL 2024 will start from March 22.

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) released their new jersey ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 featuring their star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who is the leading wicket-taker in the history of the league, featured in the video of the launch.

The jersey pays homage to the resilient spirit of the warriors who have originated from Rajasthan in the past, as well as those presently dedicated to serving society across various domains.

Chahal dropped a message to veteran batter Jos Buttler, saying, “our new jersey for 2024 designed by meeeee.”

Replying to Chahal, Buttler wrote, “Yuzi bhai, not so sexy.”

Chahal also texted skipper Sanju Samson, writing, “How did I look chintu?”

Sanju replied, “Nizeee... but only on you.”

The end of the video showed that the 2024 RR match day kit has been designed by Chahal himself.

Royals fizzle out after strong start

The RR had a mixed performance in the IPL 2023. Out of their 14 games, they won seven and lost seven matches. They finished in fifth position in the tournament and failed to qualify for the playoffs, despite having a brilliant start by winning four out of their first five matches.

However, despite their brilliant start, they failed to create an impact in the tournament and managed only two victories out of their remaining seven matches. One of their lowest points was getting bundled out for just 59 runs while chasing a target of 172 runs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), which became the third-lowest total ever in the tournament's history.

Heading into the 2024 season, the franchise added players such as Rovman Powell, Shubham Dubey, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Nandre Burger, and Abid Mushtaq in the mini-auction. They also acquired Indian fast bowler Avesh Khan during the trade window from the Lucknow Supergiants (LSG).

With new additions, alongside retaining key players like Samson, Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Chahal, the Rajasthan-based franchise would want to repeat their 2008 heroics and win the IPL for the second time.
