Dhoni shared a confusing post on his Facebook account.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has teased that he will get a new ‘role’ a few weeks ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Dhoni on March 4 expressed that he can’t wait for the new season.

On his Facebook account, Dhoni wrote: “Can't wait for the new season and the new 'role'. Stay tuned!”

The former Indian captain recently attended Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar.

In the last season, there were speculations that Dhoni will bid goodbye to the cash-rich league. However, Dhoni in the post-match presentation of the IPL 2023 final said that he does not want to disappoint his fans who have flocked to the venues for the entire season to watch him play.

Later in IPL 2023, Dhoni underwent knee surgery after battling with the injury throughout the season. He has completed his rehabilitation and is ready to lead CSK in the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Dhoni's childhood friend Paramjit Singh provided a big update amidst speculations of his retirement. “There is no way he will retire after the upcoming season. He is fit enough to play for another two seasons. He will return for IPL 2025,” Paramjit said in a video that went viral last week.

CSK’s initial schedule

CSK will start their IPL 2024 campaign against Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22 in Chennai. In the initial IPL 2024 squad announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), CSK will play two home and two away games.
