Delhi Capitals' (DC) swashbuckling southpaw David Warner achieved a big milestone during their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Thursday (April 28).

Riding on his blistering 42 off 26, he became the first batter in the history of IPL to score 1000 plus runs against two franchises.

With his exceptional knock he surpassed the 1000-run mark against KKR claim the historical feat. Not just this he also became only the second batsman after Rohit Sharma to go past 1000 runs against KKR.

Before the match, Warner required just 24 runs in the match to get to 1000 runs against KKR. Chasing 147, Warner lost his opening partner Prithvi Shaw in the first ball of the innings. However, Warner got off to a good start once again for DC. He scored a boundary off the very first delivery he faced in the innings with a delightful cover drive.

He kept finding boundaries at will to accelerate the run rate for DC and soon reached the milestone of scoring thousand runs against KKR in the sixth over of the innings.

DC went on to defeat KKR by four wickets. Chasing a target of 147 runs, DC reached 150 for six in 19 overs with Warner's heroics. Rovman Powell hit the match-winning six and smacked an unbeaten knock of 33 runs off 16 balls. Initially, KKR posted 146 for nine in 20 overs with DC's Kuldeep Yadav taking four wickets in three overs.

In the last 10 days of the ongoing IPL, Warner has achieved some rare feats playing for the Delhi-based franchise.

Firstly, he became the first batter to score 1000 runs against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Then he became the second batter to score 1000 runs against KKR and further he became the lone batter to amass 1000 runs against two IPL teams. Such has been the journey of the Australia star batter so far in the cash-rich league.
