Rishabh Pant might be missing the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season with the Delhi Capitals (DC) but some of his peers are making sure that the young wicketkeeper batter does not feel left out.
Pant was the victim of a major accident in December 2022 and many believe he was lucky to have survived the ordeal. Now recovering from the life-changing experience, the 24-year-old is set to be on the sidelines for a while till he completely rehabilitates from his injuries.
The star India batter is currently in Mumbai, recuperating from the operation he had in January. On Saturday, March 25, he had surprise visitors when former Indian cricketers Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth decided to pay him a visit. Raina took to Instagram to share the special moment among close peers.
Raina also shared a beautiful caption with the post: "Brotherhood is everything ..family is where our heart is..wishing our brother @rishabpant the very best and very fast recovery…#family #life #brotherhood#time #keep believing brother..we are always there with you..u will fly high like the phoenix."

Meanwhile, the infamous duo of Harbhajan and Sreesanth will once again reunite, more than a decade after the 'Slapgate' scandal that struck IPL 2008. Back then, the former Team India off-spinner who played for the Mumbai Indians (MI) back then, slapped his international teammate Sreesanth during a match against the Kings XI Punjab.
Sreesanth was seen crying on the field after the incident, which led to a major uproar with Harbhajan suspended for the remainder of the tournament. BCCI also banned the spinner for five ODIs.
15 years later, the duo have seemingly buried the hatchet, with a lot progressing in their careers since then. Recently, Star Sports announced that Sreesanth, Harbhajan Singh, and Mohammad Kaif as part of the commentary team ahead of IPL 2023.
Meanwhile, Pant has slowly been recovering from his injuries. He recently shared a video where Pant can be seen walking in the swimming pool with a crutch in his left hand. The caption of the post read, "Grateful for small things, big things. And everything in between."
In his first interview after getting injured, Pant revealed that his perspective towards life has changed. “It is hard for me to say if everything around me has become more positive or even negative. However, I've gained a fresh perspective on how I view my life now,” Pant said in the interview with IANS.
In his absence, David Warner will lead the Capitals in the upcoming IPL 2023 season.
