Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a six-wicket victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 1 (Friday) to secure the top spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table.

The Shreyas Iyer-led side currently have four points (Net Run Rate 0.843) after playing three matches in the ongoing edition of IPL. KKR presently occupy the top spot of the IPL points table, followed by Rajasthan Royals (RR) in second, Delhi Capitals (DC) in third, and Gujarat Titans (GT) in fourth.
On the other hand, the Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab franchise currently occupy seventh spot in the IPL standings.
The Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are presently at the 10th spot in the IPL standings with a negative NRR of 3.050.
Orange cap
KKR all-rounder Andre Russell played a match-winning knock of 70 off 31 balls against PBKS and with this knock the Jamaican claimed the top spot in the list of highest run-scorers. Russell leads the IPL Orange Cap with 95 runs in three matches.
Purple cap
On the other hand, KKR pacer Umesh Yadav picked up four wickets against PBKS. The Nagpur-born pacer is on top of the Purple Cap race with eight wickets in his kitty.
Batting first, PBKS had registered a total of 137 in 18.2 overs against KKR. In reply, the Kolkata-based franchise reached the target with 33 balls remaining. West Indies all-rounder Russell displayed his amazing batting skills to secure a crucial victory for his side. His innings was comprised of 2 boundaries and 8 sixes.
On April 2 (Saturday), Mumbai Indians (MI) will face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the first match of the day. In the second fixture, Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) will take on Delhi Capitals (DC).
