Punjab Kings (PBKS) secured a comfortable 11 runs victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 fixture at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday. It was an important win for the side, who moved from eighth to sixth on the points table, with just two points separating them from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and a place in the top four.
Leading the push for PBKS on the night was Shikhar Dhawan, whose unbeaten 88 was a milestone innings for the southpaw. Dhawan joined Virat Kohli in the 6,000+ plus run club of the IPL, and also touched 9000 T20 runs. He has also now hit over 1000 runs against CSK, which is a record in itself.
Meanwhile, RCB themselves will hope to bounce back from their devastating loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) but face a daunting task ahead of them when they take on the in-form Jos Buttler and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
