Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) on March 12 (Saturday) unveiled their new official jersey for the upcoming 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. The IPL tournament is slated to commence from March 26.

It is worth noting that Delhi Capitals shared a video of its jersey launch on social media. In the video Delhi's jersey is seen in red and blue colors, while a roaring lion is also seen in the middle and its claws are visible on the back side. Under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant, the Delhi-based franchise will aim to clinch the IPL title in 2022.
Earlier in the year 2020, Delhi played the final match under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer.
Official statment
According to a statement issued by the franchise, the first few jerseys were given to select DC fans at the team's home ground -- the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Additionally, selected children from the city, the DC Cubs, were given official jerseys too, as part of a surprise activity curated specially for them.
"It's a new cycle of the IPL, and we can't wait to see our players in this brand new jersey," said Vinod Bisht, Interim CEO, Delhi Capitals.
"Supporting this team in its quest for glory is our fan army, so it's only fitting for us to make them a part of our journey in every step."
Delhi Capitals will start their IPL campaign on March 27 against Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium, in Mumbai.
The IPL 2022 is slated to be held across four venues -- Wankhede Stadium and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and MCA International Stadium in Pune. The final match of the tournament is scheduled to be played on May 29.
With the addition of two new teams- Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants- this year’s IPL will have 10 teams vying for the prestigious trophy.
