IPL 2022 starting date and venues announced

Indian Premier League (IPL) 15th edition's kick-off date has been confirmed. The 10-team tournament will commence on March 26, a source confirmed to Sports Tak. The decision was taken in IPL Governing Council meeting on February 24. 
 

15 matches will be played at Cricket Club of India (CCI), Mumbai, 15 in Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune whereas 20 matches each will be hosted in Mumbai at DY Patil Sports Stadium and the iconic Wankhede Stadium.

 

The full schedule of the tournament which will include new franchises Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), is yet to be announced by the board.

 

Earlier the 10 franchises engaged in multiple bidding wars in the mega auction that took place on February 12 and 13.
