The legendary Amit Mishra defied age to pull off a stunning catch on his debut for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Ekana Cricket stadium in Lucknow on Friday (April 7).
The 40-year-old, who was picked by LSG for Rs 50 lakh, proved age is just a number after pulling off a superman catch to dismiss Rahul Tripathi.
Tripathi looked steady after scoring 34 off 40 when the chips were down. But in the eighteenth over he made an attempt for an upper cut off Yash Thakur's deliver. But the ball didn't get the elevation and went straight towards the short third man where Mishra was stationed. Mishra ran to his left and took a dive to complete a stunning catch.

“Thank you @LucknowIPL for the opportunity. Looking forward to the tournament. I will do my best as always. Please continue to support me," Mishra wrote on Twitter.
Talking about the match, Mishra too contributed with the bowl as he dismissed Washington Sundar and Adil Rashid to to return with 2/23 to help LSG wrap up SRH's innings for paltry 121/8. Krunal Pandya too chipped in with an exceptional spell of 3/18. He snared the wickets of Mayank Agarwal (8), Anmolpreet Singh (31) and captain Aiden Makram (0) as the last two dismissals from successive balls in the eighth over. Only Rahul Tripathi and Anmolpreet Singh (31 off 26) managed to cross 30-run mark for the SRH.
In reply LSG overhauled the lowly target with 24 balls and five wickets to spare. Krunal Pandya (34) stitched together a 55-run partnership with Rahul (35) for the third wicket to snatch the game away from the SRH's ambit. By the time, Krunal was out in the 13th over, LSG needed just 22 runs to win. The home side eventually reached 127 for 5 in 16 overs.
