The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season opener between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Gujarat Titans (GT) was threatened with a washout after a downpour in the city of Ahmedabad on Thursday.
The GT social media team treated their fans with a video of the rain the day before the big night, which might have cast doubts on whether the weather would be conducive for hosting the IPL 2023's first match.
So what is the weather like in Ahmedabad ahead of the GT vs CSK IPL 2023 opener?
According to Accuweather, fans will be delighted to know that MS Dhoni's team might take the field to face Hardik Pandya's brigade as the sun seems to be shining brightly in Ahmedabad on March 31.
There are no signs of precipitation in the sky on the day of the big opening match between the defending champions and the four-time champions. It will be a windy day, however, with gust speeds of 25 km per hour predicted. The humidity, at 39%, should also be quite comfortable.
Players will be protected by the sun's rays with a cloud cover of 51 per cent on the cards, but all-in-all, it promises to be a perfect night for an excellent game of cricket.

While Gujarat will hope to be just the fourth team in IPL history to lift the trophy more than once, CSK's main aim will be to get rid of their IPL 2022 blues where they finished ninth and secure their fifth trophy in what might be MS Dhoni's swansong.
