India U-19 World Cup-winning cricketer Rajvardhan Hangargekar was signed by defending Indian Premier League (IPL) Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the mega IPL auction for Rs 1.5 Crore. It is important to mention that in the U-19 World Cup, the Maharashtra-born cricketer picked up four wickets and scored some pretty crucial runs for the Indian team.

And now in a video posted by the CSK team, the 19-year-old cricketer can be seen having a discussion with CSK captain MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings fielding coach Rajiv Kumar.
Hangargekar’s all-round abilities can be seen in the video. CSK skipper MS Dhoni is seen practicing next to him and later both were seen having a conversation.
At the mega Indian Premier League auction, held in Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings were involved in a bidding war with Mumbai Indians (MI). But eventually, the defending IPL champions were successful in roping in the U-19 World Cup-winning cricketer.
CSK had started their preparations for the upcoming edition of IPL in Surat. The defending champions will start their IPL journey against last season’s finalists Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, on March 26.
The final match of the IPL is slated to be played on May 29. With the addition of two new teams, this year’s IPL will have 10 teams vying for the prestigious trophy. Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are two entrants.
Two new teams
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be seen leading the Gujarat-based franchise. On the other hand, Indian batsman KL Rahul will lead the Lucknow Super Giants franchise. On March 28, the two teams are scheduled to take on each other, at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium.
CSK had decided to retain four players ahead of the mega auction for the 15th edition of IPL. Skipper MS Dhoni, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, English all-rounder Moeen Ali and Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad were retained by Chennai Super Kings.
At the mega auction, they had spent a whopping amount of Rs 14 Crore for Indian all-rounder Deepak Chahar. Indian batsman Ambati Rayadu was roped in for an amount of Rs 6.75 Crore.
